Boystown “Celebrate The West” Charity Event
BoysTown, a charitable organisation which helps disadvantaged people reconnect with the community, hosts an annual ‘Celebrate the West’ event, to honour local champions of Western Sydney and raise funds for BoysTown’s crisis accommodation centre, the San Miguel Family Centre.
Since 2009, Impact AV has been a major sponsor of this event, providing all audio visual requirements to ensure the success of the evening. As this event is for such a wonderful cause, we have provided our services at discounted rates and, since 2011, at no charge.
This fundraising event is a high profile, inspirational evening, giving Western Sydney a chance to celebrate the truly positive contribution so many local people make, while helping those less fortunate.
In 2012, rugby league great Phil Gould, boxing champ Jeff Fenech, entrepreneur Rowena Szeszeran, racing legend Ken Callander and Blacktown Mayor Alan Pendleton were among those honoured on the night, while event patron Bryan Brown acted as Master of Ceremonies, Tex Perkins was among the talented line up of entertainers and comedian Vince Sorrenti helmed fundraising auctions.
It was important for Impact AV to create a truly professional and seamless event which matched the high profile of attendees and entertainers, while also creating an emotive response among guests. We used our equipment to transform the venue, the Waterview at Bicentennial Park, Homebush, and create an environment in which guests could be inspired by the local heroes being honoured, be educated about the plight of the families who rely on BoysTown’s support, and be moved to make a difference to those people’s lives by making a donation.
By creating a truly inspiring, emotive and professionally delivered event, donations flowed in and BoysTown raised more than $100,000. BoysTown was happy that we met all the entertainers’ requirements and created a high class event with true compassion and said the event was “a rousing success”. We are proud to have played a big part in this wonderful and unique event and look forward to next year’s ‘Celebrate the West’.
